Effective Date: 2/21/2025
VEA Event Participant Guidelines for Public Communications
1. Purpose
These guidelines exist to ensure that all participants (sponsors, vendors, panelists, and attendees) accurately represent their involvement in VEA events as well as any events done with partner organizations. They help maintain clarity about who organizes and leads the event while still allowing participants to celebrate their participation.
2. Policy Agreement
By registering for and participating in any event hosted or co-hosted by the Veteran Entrepreneur Alliance (VEA), you acknowledge and agree to abide by the guidelines outlined below. Participation constitutes agreement to this policy.
3. General Rule
Participants may not present VEA events as their own or imply ownership/organizing responsibility. All public communications should make clear that they are participants or partners, not event creators.
4. Approved Language for Sharing Participation
When sharing your involvement on social media, websites, newsletters, or other public platforms:
-
Always reference the official event name and that it is hosted by the Veteran Entrepreneur Alliance (VEA) and any partners involved if applicable.
-
Approved phrases include:
-
“We’re excited to be a vendor at the Military Business Showcase hosted by the Veteran Entrepreneur Alliance and Mission43.”
-
“Join us at the Entrepreneur Forward event by VEA and Mission43! We’ll be attending as [sponsor/vendor/panelist].”
-
“Proud to participate in VEA’s [Event Name] supporting veteran and veteran-spouse entrepreneurs.”
-
5. What’s Not Allowed
-
Do not imply you organized or co-hosted the event unless you are explicitly named as such by VEA or another partner.
-
❌ “We’re hosting a veteran entrepreneur showcase this weekend!” (Incorrect unless you are the host)
-
✅ “We’re participating in the Veteran Entrepreneur Alliance’s Military Business Showcase this weekend.”
-
-
Do not alter event branding (logos, colors, official event graphics).
-
Do not add your logo to official VEA event graphics without written approval.
-
Do not use language that suggests VEA is part of your organization’s programming.
6. Graphics and Branding
-
VEA will provide official event graphics that include the event name and VEA logo. These can be taken from our official social posts as well.
-
You may add your own logo next to the official graphic (if approved), but you may not remove or change the VEA branding.
-
All event photos or videos shared should be captioned accurately and tagged to VEA when possible.
7. Suggested Hashtags & Tags
We encourage participants to use:
-
#VeteranEntrepreneurAlliance
-
#VeteranOwned
-
#vealliance
-
#VeteranEntrepreneursIdaho
-
#idahoveterans
-
Tag us ( @vealliance on most platforms) and any other partners involved (on all platforms where possible)
8. Violations & Enforcement
To protect the integrity of our events and community:
-
VEA reserves the right to request removal or correction of inaccurate public communications.
-
Violations may result in loss of participation privileges in future events or programs.
-
We take misrepresentation seriously, as it undermines the collective work of our veteran and veteran-spouse entrepreneur community.
9. Final Note
We appreciate your involvement and support in creating meaningful, well-run events for the veteran entrepreneur ecosystem. These guidelines help ensure credit is given where it’s due and that the veteran community continues to be served with excellence.
